Active Research Studies Recruiting SubjectsBelow are some of our current clinical research projects. Clinical Study of the Nucleus® Hybrid Cochlear Implant in AdultsThis study is for adult subjects who have a very specific type of hearing loss and for patients who have not received a cochlear implant. Subjects to be considered have normal or near normal hearing for the lower pitches of the hearing range and a much greater loss for higher pitches. Subjects must be 18 years of age or older at the time of cochlear implantation. A specifically designed modified cochlear implant will be inserted into the cochlea only in the higher pitch region and the recipient will wear a hearing aid (if necessary) in the same ear.
